The Village Hall is situated within the heart of Shapwick, close to the Village Green.
The ideal location for a range of gatherings
It is an ideal mutual location for many gatherings and there is a vibrant community who are keen to utilise it. Originally a barn, the Hall was donated to the parish to use as a hall, and it has retained much of its original character.
The Hall welcomes events during the year including Breakfast Mornings, Pub with Open Mic nights, Curry Night, Harvest Supper, Quiz ’n Chips and Christmas Wreath Making. It hosts regular Pilates classes, W.I., Shapwick History Group, Parish Council meetings, Community Cafes and the annual Chilli Jam and Bunny Hop.
The double-door main entrance provides easy disabled access and leads into a roomy foyer, off which is the main hall, kitchen and toilet facilities. The main hall measures 11.6m x 5.8m. There is a light mezzanine area measuring 6.0m x 5.8m accessed off the hall by a staircase. The space can accommodate 6o people seated and 90 people standing, and there are sufficient chairs and easily erected tables of various sizes. There is a projector screen and efficient electric heating system.
The kitchen has a hatch to the main hall and contains catering equipment, cooker, fridge, microwave, sufficient cutlery and crockery, an electric water urn and hot trolleys.

The Village Hall is an ideal venue for smaller gatherings.
Children’s birthday parties, weddings, christening celebrations, funeral wakes, company meetings and other small functions .
There is parking for approximately 12 cars.
